Elephants! These are the first animals that come to mind when people think of India. Inside their massive enclosure, you will witness a herd of majestic Indian elephants enjoying the large grassy open terrain. If you prefer a more intimate experience with the big guys, check out our Maharaja elephant ride. The rare Great Indian rhinoceros and a bloat of hippopotamuses from Africa round up our heavyweight attractions.

The black buck, a resident exclusively of the Indian subcontinent, shares the vast wooded enclosures with the chinkara, the smallest Asiatic antelope. Do not miss the nilgai and the chousingha, the nimble antelopes local to the Indian Peninsula. Whether you known it as "dhaachoo" or "heehaw," the bray of the rare Indian wild asses will surely delight you. As you enjoy your walk through the zoo, do not be surprised to run into the free roaming herds of deer. However, we cannot guarantee a deer hug ...unless, of course, you are really fast on your feet!
